The City of Wichita and surrounding areas that use water form Cheney Lake have provided new permanent watering guidelines that will go into effect on September 15, 2025.
--Well water users are still exempt from these restrictions, but encouraged to practice responsible water use. Well water users are also encouraged to post signage stating they are using well water.
--These restrictions also include the City of Bel Aire, City of Andover,
No watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
No watering on Monday
If you address ends in an odd number ( 1, 3, 5, 7, 9,), you can water on WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY, & SATURDAY
If you address ends in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, 8,), you can water on TUESDAY, THURSDAY, & SATURDAY
Outdoor watering is allowed only on TUESDAY, THURSDAY, & SATURDAY before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m.
No watering allowed any day of the week between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (heat of the day)
Hand watering and other outdoor water use (such as pool filling) is allowed any day, outside of the 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. timeframe
